Artist Talk: Milton Keynes City Photographic Society
I was invited to give an artist talk at the Milton Keynes Photographic Society.
The presentation, titled My Photographic Process focused on my creative journey returning to documentary photography. During the talk, I discussed using the camera to look closer at my immediate surroundings, sharing insights from my award-winning series Love is a Life Story, my book Our Lockdown Garden and my subsequent project, 900 Yards, a portrait project made in my nearest green space in Milton Keynes.
I also spoke about the balance between technical choices and human connection when documenting local communities. It was a great opportunity to meet local photographers and discuss the process of building an ongoing documentary practice close to home.
