Selected Awards: PX3
900 Yards has been awarded an Honourable Mention in the Portraiture category at the PX3 2024 (Prix de la Photographie, Paris).
This project explores the relationship between community and nature right on my doorstep in the new city of Milton Keynes. One of the core founding principles used by the city's architects was that nobody should ever live further than 900 yards, or a 10-minute walk, from a green open space.
Having our movements restricted during the global pandemic encouraged so many of us to truly appreciate what we have close to home. For me, that meant taking my camera into my nearest green space. 900 Yards documents the diversity of the people in my local community who I meet in these spaces.
