Artist Talk: Oriel Colwyn

To coincide with the RPS Documentary Photography Awards Touring Exhibition. I was invited to give an artist talk at Oriel Colwyn in North Wales

Sharing the stage at the gallery allowed me to discuss the deeper creative process behind my winning series, Love is a Life Story. During the talk, I spoke about capturing the everyday moments and difficulties faced by my 91-year-old father, John, and his neighbour, Mary, during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

I also spoke about how this intimate story connected to my work with the wider community through the project Our Lockdown Garden, exploring how we found hope, connection, and resilience during a time of isolation.

It was great to connect with the North Wales photographic community, answer questions about documentary storytelling, and see the project displayed alongside such exceptional global work.
