Selected Award: RPS Documentary Photography Awards
I am incredibly proud that my photo series, Love is a Life Story, was selected as a winner in the prestigious Royal Photographic Society Documentary Photography Awards.
This project is deeply personal to me. It documents the enduring friendship between my father, John, and his next-door neighbour, Mary, as they navigated the isolation of the Covid-19 lockdowns. John, a retired minister, and Mary, a former nurse, spent their lives caring for others. In their nineties, they found a beautiful balance in caring for each other.
Having this work chosen by the Royal Photographic Society was validation of a story that represents the reality of ageing, loneliness, and community resilience. The selected images went on to be featured in the RPS Documentary Photography Awards Touring Exhibition, traveling to prominent galleries across the UK.
The exhibition can be seen at:
London: Nunnery Gallery, 7th to 21st May
