Member Spotlight: RPS Women in Photography

I wrote a piece about my project, Love Is A Life Story, for the Royal Photographic Society Women in Photography platform.

The article covers my winning series from the RPS Documentary Photography Awards, and outlines the background to the project, which records the everyday interactions and lockdown companionship between my father, John, and his neighbour, Mary.

By combining text with the images, the article provides more of the story behind the work, going deeper into the narrative than what can be seen in the touring exhibition alone. It offers a closer look at their daily interactions, the challenges they faced during lockdown, and the relationship that developed between them, highlighting what was happening in retirement communities around the country at that time.

It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on the project and share more of the story behind the photographs with the RPS Women in Photography community.
