Zine Feature: F/8 Documentary: Volume 5

Following on from my f/8 Documentary Instagram takeover, my series Love Is A Life Story is featured in the newly released f/8 Documentary: Volume Five.

f/8 Documentary is a fantastic collective focused on celebrating documentary photography within the British Isles. For this fifth volume, published in collaboration with Fistful of Books, my work was selected alongside a small group of incredible documentary photographers documenting modern social history and everyday life across the UK.

Love Is A Life Story began during lockdown, when I started photographing my father, John, and his neighbour, Mary. The work grew from the everyday moments of their lives — the routines, companionship and small gestures that took on a particular significance during a time of isolation and uncertainty.

The series is a reminder that documentary photography can be found not only in major events, but also in the ordinary, intimate moments of everyday life — moments that can easily pass unnoticed, but which can become very meaningful when we look back.

Thanks to the team behind f/8 Documentary for continuing to champion documentary photography and the many different stories of life across the British Isles.
